The 2010 BCLA conference is almost upon us, and LTAIG is very excited!

First off, we have brochures and buttons to share with you at the conference:

They can be found at Table T15 , we’ll be right beside the doors so people coming and going will be able to find us.

We’ll be there thursday night at the opening reception, Friday: 10:15 – 3pm and Saturday: 7:30 – 9:15.

If you are coming check out our table, we will also have our petition to become a section of BCLA available, (note: you must be a member of BCLA to sign), as well as the proposed constitution and by-laws for the section available to peruse as well.

As well, at the conference there will be two library support staff  roundtables (at the same time),  “Library Support Staff in the Big Picture” facilitated by Sarah Felkar and Stephen Karr, and “Shaping the Future of Library Support Staff Education” faciliated by Christina Neigel.

Christina is will also be hosting and UFV will be hosting two social events during the conference.

From her announcement:

Recently I had announced two LTAIG meetings for library techs and assistants: one at UFV and one in Victoria.  There will be another at the BCLA conference in Penticton on Friday April 23rd at 4:30 pm to 5:30 in the Ramada hotel.  Location will be in the UFV suite.

Please note, even if you are not currently a BCLA member, you are welcome to attend any of these meetings – they are not exclusive to members.

In addition, UFV’s Library Tech Program will be hosting a drop in meet-and-greet at the Ramada in the UFV suite during the conference.  Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be available.  Details to follow.  If you are a technician or assistant and want to mingle informally with your colleagues, this is the event for you!

If you are planning on attending the conference, please drop by the table to chat.  We would love to meet you!
